Ayia Napa Sculpture Park sits on the cliffs east of Ayia Napa town, on the road to Cape Greco, in a landscape of pine, juniper and exposed limestone. It is a substantial open-air sculpture park with more than 100 contemporary international sculptures by artists from over 40 countries, spread across roughly 100,000 m² of cliff-top terrain. The park was established in 2014 by the Ayia Napa municipality as a cultural counter-balance to the resort's nightlife reputation, and it has developed into one of the larger contemporary sculpture parks in the Mediterranean.
The collection is varied — abstract minimalist works, figurative pieces, Greek mythology themes, post-modern conceptual works, all in stone, bronze, steel, and mixed materials. Several larger installations are sited dramatically against the sea horizon. The park is free to enter and walk through; marked paths connect the major works. The setting itself is part of the experience — pine-dotted limestone, sea views, the cliff edge dropping to the Mediterranean.
The park is also part of a broader cultural-heritage zone including the small Makronissos Beach archaeology (Hellenistic rock-cut tombs nearby) and the wider Cape Greco National Forest Park. A coastal walking trail connects the sculpture park to the Cape Greco lighthouse and the sea-caves area further west.
Insider tips. Free entry; allow 90-120 minutes for a full circuit. Late afternoon and sunset are the best for photography (the sculptures' shadows lengthen, the light goes gold). The park is exposed; sun protection essential. Sturdy shoes for the unpaved paths. There are toilets but no café; bring water. Photography is encouraged.
Combinations. Pair with the Cape Greco park (lighthouse, sea caves, Konnos Bay — the natural eastward continuation), with Ayia Napa harbour and the Thalassa Museum (a 10-minute drive west), or with an evening at one of the resort restaurants. The sculpture park is itself a half-day visit if you give it the attention.
Bring. Sturdy shoes, sunscreen, hat, water, camera, casual outdoor clothes. When. Year-round; spring and autumn afternoons are perfect; avoid summer midday. Sunset is consistently the photographic peak. The Ayia Napa Sculpture Park is the unexpected cultural counterweight to the resort's nightlife reputation and a quietly worthwhile destination on the eastern coast.
