Cyprus in 3 Days — A Long Weekend from Poland. What You Can Realistically See
A long weekend in Cyprus — 4–5 days of travel, with 3 full days on the ground — is an increasingly popular format, especially in May (May Day), November, and during holidays. The flight takes 4 hours. The question is: what can you realistically see in 3 days? And what should you skip to avoid spending the weekend in a car instead of on the beach or at historical sites?
Realistic Expectations
Cyprus is small physically, but rich in attractions. 3 days is enough to:
- See one or two main regions in focus
- Take several day trips from a base
- Experience the island's atmosphere, eat authentically, and swim
3 days is NOT enough to see "the whole island." Those who try to do so spend 70% of their time in a car and return tired instead of refreshed.
Choosing a Base — A Key Decision
With 3 days, your base MUST be one location. Changing hotels every night is a loss of 2–3 hours on packing, departure, arrival, and check-in.
Option A: Larnaca — for lovers of historical architecture, close to the airport, good public transport Option B: Paphos — for lovers of ancient ruins + sunset at the Aphrodite’s Rock Option C: Limassol — for couples and people who appreciate good restaurants, a marina, and a lifestyle Option D: Ayia Napa/Protaras — for beach and water sports enthusiasts (not sightseeing)
Plan A: Base in Larnaca (3 nights)
